Ballygawley FC's Rowan Doyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Biviti Frankson in the 2nd minute of play. After 6 minutes of play, Walshtown's Beag Holt made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rowan Doyle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Rowan Doyle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Patrick Coyle, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. A collision led to Ballygawley FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Beagan Matthews hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Ballygawley FC's Bel Rogers got a free kick in the 18th minute. Beag Holt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 20 minutes into the game, Bel Rogers was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballygawley FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Walshtown the free kick. A collision led to Ballygawley FC getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Bel Rogers hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Ballygawley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Beag Holt came free, but Rowan Doyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Walshtown's Don McIan sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Rowan Doyle narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 26 minutes, Don McPaul put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Rowan Doyle. Rowan Doyle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Beag Holt took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rowan Doyle. Rowan Doyle dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Beag Holt made a kick off. After 53 minutes of play Ballygawley FC's Bel Rogers was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 54 played minutes Ballygawley FC got a freekick which was hit by Bel Rogers. 56 minutes into the match, Ballygawley FC's goal looked a bit too open when Patrick Coyle came free, but Rowan Doyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rowan Doyle was a little too slow when Don McPaul got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 58th minute. The score was now 0-5. Don McPaul struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Rowan Doyle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Walshtown. 67 minutes into the game, Biviti Frankson lined in a short shot 0-6 behind a frustrated Rowan Doyle. Biviti Frankson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 74 minutes into the game, Declan McTommy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ballygawley FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Walshtown the free kick. Rowan Doyle showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beccan Cassin in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 85th minute, Brak Ghee had to leave the field with a concussion. Biviti Frankson charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Biviti Frankson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 86 played minutes Walshtown got a freekick which was hit by Biviti Frankson. Rowan Doyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beccan Cassin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beag Holt fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rowan Doyle having to interfere. Walshtown played a much better game than Ballygawley FC and deserved their victory. The Ballygawley FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
