If Davie Cooney had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 5th minute, Davie Cooney left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pinapple Express fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Davie Cooney in the 11thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Barhart Cassin, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Davie Cooney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Barhart Cassin made a huge save. Biddy Tierney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Casey Dimson in the 21st minute of play. Shamrock rovers's Barhart Cassin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Burke Beckett in the 24th minute of play. Teddy Horgan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Biddy Tierney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. After 27 played minutes, Pinapple Express's Lou Rogers shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Barhart Cassin came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pinapple Express reached it. Barhart Cassin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Burke Beckett in the 28th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Casey Dimson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Teddy Horgan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Biddy Tierney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Shamrock rovers's Donlevy Moran got a free kick in the 36th minute. Pinapple Express's Lou Rogers couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 37th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Shamrock rovers. Biddy Tierney showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Teddy Horgan, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Barhart Cassin made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Blaire Keegan sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Casey Dimson was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burke Beckett in the 51st minute of play forced Shamrock rovers's goalkeeper Barhart Cassin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, Bearchan Dillon hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 58th minute, Teddy Horgan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davie Cooney in the 76th minute of play forced Shamrock rovers's goalkeeper Barhart Cassin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shamrock rovers's Barhart Cassin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davie Cooney in the 79th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Burke Beckett in the 80th minute of play forced Shamrock rovers's goalkeeper Barhart Cassin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Davie Cooney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barhart Cassin having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Shamrock rovers's zone, Davie Cooney stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Barhart Cassin came out of the goal and Davie Cooney tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 86 minutes into the game, Burke Beckett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Barhart Cassin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Teddy Horgan got free with Biddy Tierney in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Pinapple Express's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
