Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Cleary Mulvihill took the kick off in the first half of the match. The long shot by Healy McLiam in the 3rd minute really tested Pat Harkin's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With a little luck, Illanbaun Utd's Pat Harkin got control of the ball when Rollan Branson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cleary Mulvihill in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Beacan Savic prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Britt Myler struck a weak shot in the 28th minute. Pat Harkin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Batterstown. If Cleary Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pat Harkin showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Britt Myler, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Illanbaun Utd's zone, Britt Myler stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pat Harkin came out of the goal and Britt Myler tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Britt Myler could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Pat Harkin made a huge save. Britt Myler fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pat Harkin having to interfere. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Britt Myler made the kick off in the second half. Pat Harkin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Britt Myler in the 57th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Britt Myler had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pat Harkin. Illanbaun Utd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Britt Myler was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 63rd minute, Cleary Mulvihill made a precise shot to the right of Beacan Savic. Batterstown's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Illanbaun Utd's Cleary Mulvihill got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th match minute, Batterstown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rollan Branson to maneuver through the defense. 79 minutes into the match, Illanbaun Utd's goal looked a bit too open when Britt Myler came free, but Pat Harkin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 80 played minutes Illanbaun Utd got a freekick which was hit by Cleary Mulvihill. In the 81st minute, Britt Myler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Britt Myler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Illanbaun Utd's Pat Harkin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fiachra Benson in the 88th minute of play. Cleary Mulvihill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pat Harkin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Britt Myler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
