The supporters of Dublin Athlétic™ booed when Cavetown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Don McSteve didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bradigan Cassin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baodan McJohnny in the 11th minute of the match. Barra McLaughlin's late challenge caught a Dublin Athlétic™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Barra McLaughlin helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Cavetown's Barra McLaughlin got a free kick in the 14th minute. Terrence Johnson made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Braydon Perth sent off a good shot on target. Braydon Perth received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Terrence Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dublin Athlétic™'s Bradigan Cassin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don McSteve in the 23rd minute of play. When Baodan McJohnny came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Cavetown fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Baodan McJohnny couldn't finish the play. Don McSteve fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bradigan Cassin having to interfere. Blamhac Tierney received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Terrence Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st minute of the match Gerard Hughes sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Terrence Johnson skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Cavetown getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Bradley Palmer hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Dublin Athlétic™'s zone, Don McSteve stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bradigan Cassin came out of the goal and Don McSteve tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute Baodan McJohnny shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bradigan Cassin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Don McSteve had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baodan McJohnny struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Bradigan Cassin didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavetown. Don McSteve recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Blamhac Tierney stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
