Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bradley Palmer started the match with the kick off. After 5 minutes of play, Raferagh's Fergal Martyn made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Terrence Johnson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Fergal Martyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Terrence Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Don McSteve could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Baird McJohn made a huge save. Aaden Cooney might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Terrence Johnson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Aaden Cooney ran back to his position shaking his head. 16 minutes into the match, Cavetown's goal looked a bit too open when Fergal Martyn came free, but Terrence Johnson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brak Costello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Terrence Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Aaden Cooney blasted a shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Terrence Johnson having to make a save. 30 minutes into the game, Cahir Delaney was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Raferagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cavetown the free kick. After a rather tough play, Raferagh's Cahir Delaney got a free kick in the 30th minute. Bradley Palmer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Baird McJohn having to make a save. Aaden Cooney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barra McLaughlin in the 38th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Baird McJohn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd minute, Aaden Cooney ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Terrence Johnson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Baird McJohn was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Bradley Palmer capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bradley Palmer really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Aaden Cooney made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Cavetown's goalkeeper Terrence Johnson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Aaden Cooney. Cavetown's Terrence Johnson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Cavetown from getting a goal against them. Fergal Martyn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Terrence Johnson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Cavetown booed when Raferagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Earnán Gillmour didn't get a good kick on the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Shea Moran threw the ball into play from the sideline. Raferagh's Finbar McNamara quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 71st match minute, Cavetown was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bradley Palmer to maneuver through the defense. In the 75th minute Don McSteve shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baird McJohn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fergal Martyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terrence Johnson having to interfere. Terrence Johnson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Aaden Cooney in the 80th minute of play. Raferagh's Baird McJohn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Don McSteve in the 81st minute of play. Baird McJohn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bradley Palmer, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Terrence Johnson made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Aaden Cooney sent off a good shot on target. Aaden Cooney could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 86th minute of the match, but Terrence Johnson made a huge save. The supporters of Cavetown booed when Raferagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aaden Cooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. Raferagh's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
