Paudraig Lavine's late challenge caught a Ballybrood's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Paudraig Lavine helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Glenieraragh's Paudraig Lavine got a free kick in the 14th minute. In the 15th minute Baydan Todd shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Britain Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Baird Gillmour could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Tirloch Savic made a huge save. A collision led to Ballybrood getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Egan Hunt hit a great ball. Austin McFrank was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tirloch Savic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gill Dimson in the 28th minute of the match. After 30 played minutes, Glenieraragh's Royan Johnson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tirloch Savic came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Glenieraragh reached it. Theodore McVictor blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Britain Barrett having to make a save. Ballybrood's Tirloch Savic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Ballybrood from getting a goal against them. Gill Dimson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tirloch Savic having to interfere. Gill Dimson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Tirloch Savic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tirloch Savic made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Baird Gillmour sent off a good shot on target. 47 minutes into the match, Ballybrood's goalkeeper Tirloch Savic had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Baird Gillmour. Glenieraragh's Britain Barrett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baydan Todd in the 48th minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, Ballybrood's Pat McSteven got a free kick in the 52nd minute. In the 53rdth minute of the game Baird Gillmour who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ballybrood's Tirloch Savic was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Theodore McVictor got free with Britain Barrett in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Theodore McVictor scored 2-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Britain Barrett, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 66 played minutes Glenieraragh got a freekick which was hit by Paudraig Lavine. In the 68th minute Pat McSteven suffered a foot injury and had to be helped off the field. When Gilbert McBrandon fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Glenieraragh's protests and gave Gilbert McBrandon a yellow card for diving instead. Gilbert McBrandon kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. After 74 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ballybrood! In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Glenieraragh. Austin McFrank stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tirloch Savic. 3-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gill Dimson in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tirloch Savic saved Ballybrood from getting behind. In the 80th match minute, Ballybrood was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baydan Todd to maneuver through the defense. If Baird Gillmour had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baydan Todd kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Glenieraragh's Gill Dimson got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tirloch Savic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gill Dimson, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Glenieraragh's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
