After 12 minutes, Barra McLaughlin mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cavetown and the Glenieraragh players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Glenieraragh booed when Cavetown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barra McLaughlin didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Banan John during the 39th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Gilbert McBrandon fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Glenieraragh's protests and gave Gilbert McBrandon a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Glenieraragh getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Gilbert McBrandon hit a great ball. Britain Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don McSteve, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Gill Dimson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terrence Johnson having to interfere. After some careless play in the Glenieraragh defense, Bradley Palmer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Britain Barrett. The Glenieraragh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Britain Barrett should have stopped the shot. Baird Gillmour sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Glenieraragh's Baird Gillmour got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Terrence Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gill Dimson, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. After having played for 85 minutes, Gill Dimson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Glenieraragh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gill Dimson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cavetown's Terrence Johnson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gill Dimson in the 87th minute of play. After 89 played minutes Glenieraragh got a freekick which was hit by Paudraig Lavine. After some careless play in the Glenieraragh defense, Bradley Palmer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Britain Barrett. The Glenieraragh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Britain Barrett should have stopped the shot. Glenieraragh's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
