After having played for 5 minutes, Gearóid Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shanweela Utd's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gearóid Silke was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Glenn McJon fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Barca Cork's protests and gave Glenn McJon a yellow card for diving instead. In the 17th match minute, FC Barca Cork was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glenn McJon to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Robin McGlynn in the 21st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Phillip McWill saved Shanweela Utd from getting behind. After having played for 22 minutes, Robin McGlynn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gearóid Silke recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gearóid Silke to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Gearóid Silke made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. FC Barca Cork's Phillip McPhil tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Shanweela Utd's Gearóid Silke got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Gearóid Silke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Shanweela Utd's supporters rose to their feet, but Gearóid Silke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Phillip McPhil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Robin McGlynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip McWill having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Seoirse Dillon in the 73rd minute of play forced Shanweela Utd's goalkeeper Phillip McWill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 76th minute Rowan McLiam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phillip McPhil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gearóid Silke fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip McPhil having to interfere. After 81 played minutes FC Barca Cork got a freekick which was hit by Donelle MaCollin. Phillip McPhil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gearóid Silke in the 84th minute of play. Rowan McLiam took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Phillip McPhil. Phillip McPhil dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Robin McGlynn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip McWill having to interfere.
