Spectators: 8008 (Terracing: 6008, Seating: 1841, VIP seats: 159) Kevion Mulvihill started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After having played for 4 minutes, Seoirse Dillon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Barca Cork's supporters crossed their fingers, but Seoirse Dillon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 7th minute the ball was on its way in behind Monasterevin's goalkeeper Art McSteven, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 10th minute Kevion Mulvihill shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phillip McPhil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 18 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Robin McGlynn sped through Monasterevin's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Art McSteven. 26 minutes into the match, Kevion Mulvihill notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of FC Barca Cork's Phillip McPhil. Phillip McPhil was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Phillip McPhil stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dane Lester's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. Phillip McPhil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevion Mulvihill in the 33rd minute of play. In the 37th minute, Boyd Scully hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Art McSteven made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teddy McStephen in the 39th minute of play. Dewayne John received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Phillip McPhil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Logan Bayes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Monasterevin's Bowen Harkin in action when he in the 47th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Teddy McStephen made the kick off in the second half. Monasterevin's Art McSteven played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robin McGlynn in the 52nd minute of play. Seoirse Dillon's late challenge caught a Monasterevin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Seoirse Dillon helped the player get up and apologised. After 52 played minutes FC Barca Cork got a freekick which was hit by Seoirse Dillon. After having played for 53 minutes, Dewayne John managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monasterevin's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dewayne John was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 55th match minute, FC Barca Cork was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glenn McJon to maneuver through the defense. 56 minutes into the match, Monasterevin's Kevion Mulvihill sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Phillip McPhil narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in FC Barca Cork's zone, Dewayne John stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phillip McPhil came out of the goal and Dewayne John tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. FC Barca Cork's Phillip McPhil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kevion Mulvihill in the 65th minute of play. Boyd Scully fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phillip McPhil having to interfere. Phillip McPhil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevion Mulvihill in the 69th minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Kevion Mulvihill got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. FC Barca Cork's Phillip McPhil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save FC Barca Cork from getting a goal against them. When Tory Lester fell near the penalty area in the 78th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Barca Cork's protests and gave Tory Lester a yellow card for diving instead. The referee gave Monasterevin a penalty, 80 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Bowen Harkin, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of FC Barca Cork's Phillip McPhil. 1-2. After a rather tough play, FC Barca Cork's Seoirse Dillon got a free kick in the 87th minute. Kevion Mulvihill struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Phillip McPhil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monasterevin. Phillip McPhil made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevion Mulvihill in the 92nd minute of play. If Kevion Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Monasterevin played a much better game than FC Barca Cork and deserved their victory. The FC Barca Cork players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
