Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Trien McMichel made the kick off which started today's match. Boethis McGlenn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trevor Barrett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rowen McNamara succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. After a rather tough play, Modubeagh's Trevor Barrett got a free kick in the 15th minute. A sloppy throw-in by Harrington Gough in the 20th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Callan's Raymun Taylor. Trien McMichel struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Brendon Costello didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Callan. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torrey Deery in the 24th minute of play forced Callan's goalkeeper Boethis McGlenn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th match minute, Callan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roordan Crowe to maneuver through the defense. After 30 minutes, Roordan Crowe mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Callan and the Modubeagh players grew even worse after the yellow card. Roordan Crowe hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Brendon Costello made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Trien McMichel sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Modubeagh's zone, Trien McMichel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendon Costello came out of the goal and Trien McMichel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Callan's attentive Theodore Quinnless managed to snatch the ball when Breslin Holt made a throw-in in the 38th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Trevor Barrett in the 42nd minute of play forced Callan's goalkeeper Boethis McGlenn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Torrey Deery to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Callan getting a freekick after 51 minutes play. Giles Sheridan hit a great ball. The supporters of Modubeagh booed when Callan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Troy McOliver didn't get a good kick on the ball. 61 minutes into the match, Trien McMichel notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Modubeagh's Brendon Costello. Brendon Costello was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Trevor Barrett could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Boethis McGlenn made a huge save. In the 69th minute, Roordan Crowe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 72ndth minute of the game Torrey Deery who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Callan's Boethis McGlenn was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Trevor Barrett got free with Boethis McGlenn in the 74th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 80 minutes into the match, Trien McMichel notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Modubeagh's Brendon Costello. Brendon Costello was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Troy McOliver kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Trien McMichel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Callan fans cheered their team off the field, for while Modubeagh had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
