Aubrey Glen Crowe hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. After having played for 3 minutes, Farrell McJohnny managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Oldleighlin AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Farrell McJohnny was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Conn Barrett charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conn Barrett the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Oldleighlin AFC booed when Rathcool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Conn Barrett didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rathcool's attentive Harrigan Bayes managed to snatch the ball when Keefe Dillon made a throw-in in the 8th minute of the game. Breck Scully hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Patrick Deans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Lavine in the 13th minute of the match. Oldleighlin AFC's Blathma Cassin got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Blathma Cassin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Oldleighlin AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. In the 28th match minute, Oldleighlin AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Berkley Tierney to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute of the match, Dillon Myler got a very nice opportunity to score, but Patrick Deans was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. In the 35th match minute, Rathcool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Aaden McJames to maneuver through the defense. Farrell McJohnny recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Oldleighlin AFC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Berkley Tierney hit a great ball. After 41 played minutes Rathcool got a freekick which was hit by Breck Scully.

After 56 played minutes Oldleighlin AFC got a freekick which was hit by Beckett Hunt. Dermod Mulvihill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ailín McLaughlin having to interfere. Patrick Deans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leonard Lavine in the 65th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 67th minute, Beckett Hunt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Oldleighlin AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Beckett Hunt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrick Deans breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Oldleighlin AFC booed when Rathcool was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dermod Mulvihill didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rathcool's attentive Dermod Mulvihill managed to snatch the ball when Berkley Tierney made a throw-in in the 72nd minute of the game. Conn Barrett was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 79 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, one of Rathcool:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rathcool. Rathcool:s Patrick Deans showed great skill when he stopped Farrell McJohnny:s penalty. The excitement rose when Oldleighlin AFC's Farrell McJohnny after 82 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Rathcool's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 2-0. Patrick Deans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beckett Hunt in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Oldleighlin AFC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Rathcool had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
