Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Breen Martyn got the match started through his kick off. Declan McWillie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Deery in the 4th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Darby Walker in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Declan McWillie saved Churchvilla from getting behind. Churchvilla's Samuel Tracy suffered a concussion in the 11th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. 11 minutes into the game, Alfred Deery was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Connonagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Churchvilla the free kick. Churchvilla made a substitution. Breas Taylor replaced Samuel Tracy. In the 12th minute, Alfred Deery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 13 minutes of play Connonagh's Alfred Deery was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. A collision led to Connonagh getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Alfred Deery hit a great ball. Breen Martyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Barde Doyle fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dewain Dempsey having to interfere. Breen Martyn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Churchvilla's Breen Martyn got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Barde Doyle blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dewain Dempsey having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Breen Martyn took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Dewain Dempsey to make any attempt to save it. Kerrigan Brennan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 39th minute, Kerrigan Brennan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Connonagh's Dewain Dempsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bearchan McFrank in the 45th minute of play. If Kerrigan Brennan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Churchvilla booed when Connonagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bannon Martyn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dónal Tracy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Dewain Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darby Walker sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Churchvilla's Breen Martyn got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Churchvilla's Kerrigan Brennan got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute, Kerrigan Brennan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gaynor McNamee during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When Barde Doyle came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Churchvilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barde Doyle couldn't finish the play. Kerrigan Brennan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Dewain Dempsey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Connonagh's Dewain Dempsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barde Doyle in the 85th minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Connonagh's goal looked a bit too open when Breen Martyn came free, but Dewain Dempsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bearchan McFrank struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Dewain Dempsey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Churchvilla. After a defensive mix-up in Connonagh's zone, Dónal Tracy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dewain Dempsey came out of the goal and Dónal Tracy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Kerrigan Brennan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Churchvilla's supporters rose to their feet, but Kerrigan Brennan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dewain Dempsey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There was no doubt that Churchvilla were the better team. Churchvilla's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
