Rathcool's Dermod Mulvihill quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Enda Cooney, made in the 5th minute of the game. Patrick Deans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rollan McFrancise in the 12th minute of the match. Patrick Deans showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aengus Cassin, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Irwin McSteve could shoot a difficult shot in the 20th minute, which Randal McSteven however easily saved by the left post. TheIdealAttack's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Irwin McSteve 20 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. If Breck Scully had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Breck Scully blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Randal McSteven having to make a save. Patrick Deans came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by TheIdealAttack's Rollan McFrancise. But to his dismay, Rollan McFrancise quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. After 37 played minutes Rathcool got a freekick which was hit by Breck Scully.

Harrigan Bayes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Randal McSteven tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Rathcool booed when TheIdealAttack was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enda Cooney didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 60th minute, Harrigan Bayes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rollan McFrancise's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Patrick Deans firmly grabbed it by the left post. With a little luck, Rathcool's Patrick Deans got control of the ball when Rollan McFrancise tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the match had been going on for 74 minutes, TheIdealAttack's Darrick Ryan got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Patrick Deans. When Aubrey Glen Crowe fell near the penalty area in the 81st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rathcool's protests and gave Aubrey Glen Crowe a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rathcool getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Aubrey Glen Crowe hit a great ball. In the 82nd minute Aengus Cassin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Deans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Aengus Cassin struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Patrick Deans didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TheIdealAttack. Irwin McSteve fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 95th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. In the 99th minute, Aengus Cassin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. TheIdealAttack were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Rathcool's much stronger midfield.
