Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Bowen Jameson kicked off to start the match. After 7 played minutes Ray got a freekick which was hit by Breannain Sheridan. After a rather tough play, Ray's Shannon Ferguson got a free kick in the 9th minute. With a little luck, Ray's Dinny McLiam got control of the ball when Andrew Rutherford tried to sneak it across the goal line. The attack was good, but when Gordan Martyn in the 14th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Andrew Rutherford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Barr McJohnny blasted a shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Caoilte Mullan having to make a save. Caoilte Mullan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bowen Jameson's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. The supporters of Ray booed when Ballinakill AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Briain Doyle didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience was convinced that Bowen Jameson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Caoilte Mullan was relentless in the 30th minute of the game. Gordan Martyn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ballinakill AFC's Andrew Rutherford got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 38th minute, one of Ray:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ray. 43 minutes into the match, Ray's goal looked a bit too open when Gordan Martyn came free, but Dinny McLiam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barr McJohnny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caoilte Mullan having to interfere. Andrew Rutherford could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 48th minute of the match, but Dinny McLiam made a huge save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrew Rutherford in the 56th minute of play forced Ray's goalkeeper Dinny McLiam to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Breannain Sheridan hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Conleth Brennan charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Conleth Brennan the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 68th minute, Conleth Brennan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gordan Martyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bowen Jameson in the 74th minute of play forced Ballinakill AFC's goalkeeper Caoilte Mullan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gordan Martyn in the 75th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dinny McLiam prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ray's Bowen Jameson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 81st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. A collision led to Ballinakill AFC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Conleth Brennan hit a great ball. In the 92nd minute, Shannon Ferguson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
