Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Darby Walker made the kick off and thus started the match. Andrew Rutherford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Connonagh defense, Andrew Rutherford kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dewain Dempsey. The Connonagh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dewain Dempsey should have stopped the shot. After having played for 17 minutes, Andrew Rutherford managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ballinakill AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrew Rutherford was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gordan Martyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dewain Dempsey having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Connonagh's Bercan Dempsey got a free kick in the 20th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Gordan Martyn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ballinakill AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gordan Martyn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dewain Dempsey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 29 minutes into the game, Ballinakill AFC's Andrew Rutherford nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dewain Dempsey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Andrew Rutherford sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Connonagh's Dewain Dempsey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gordan Martyn in the 39th minute of play. A hard shot 42 in the game by Andrew Rutherford from a close distance when the talented Dewain Dempsey managed to make a qualified save. Connonagh's players were relieved. After having played for 44 minutes, Gordan Martyn managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 46th minute, Andrew Rutherford got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Ballinakill AFC's Dewain Dempsey threw himself towards the right post 47 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Gordan Martyn, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gordan Martyn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Andrew Rutherford fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dewain Dempsey having to interfere. Baydan Frankson made a great header on Ballinakill AFC's corner, it was just that Connonagh's Dewain Dempsey managed to reach the ball for a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andrew Rutherford in the 59th minute of play forced Connonagh's goalkeeper Dewain Dempsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gordan Martyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Gordan Martyn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dewain Dempsey was relentless in the 63rd minute of the game. Alfred Deery fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Caoilte Mullan having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Ballinakill AFC fully deserved thier win.
