In the 27th minute Keely Hughes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Patrick Deans saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice moves Ainnle Frankson could shoot a difficult shot in the 29th minute, which Patrick Deans however easily saved by the left post. Patrick Deans showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darby Walker in the 30th minute of the match. In the 31st match minute, Rathcool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bressail Colwell to maneuver through the defense. If Darby Walker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 48 minutes into the game, Gaynor McNamee was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Connonagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Rathcool the free kick. The supporters of Rathcool booed when Connonagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaynor McNamee didn't get a good kick on the ball. It was a very nice shot. The Connonagh players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
