Woodhouse's Eoghan Murphy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cianán Myler in the 17th minute of play. Alexander Caffrey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barde Cooney having to interfere. Alexander Caffrey scored 2-2 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Barde Cooney, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 43 minutes into the game, Patraic McDecland was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Woodhouse's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Smithfield FC the free kick. In the 43rd minute, one of Woodhouse:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Woodhouse. The goalkeeper, Eoghan Murphy, was totally fooled by Smithfield FC's Bevin Perth, who 44 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alexander Caffrey was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alexander Caffrey in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Barde Cooney prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Paudraig Branson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Woodhouse's Paudraig Branson got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 62 minutes into the match, Smithfield FC's goalkeeper Barde Cooney had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Paudraig Branson. Paudraig Branson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barde Cooney having to interfere. Alexander Caffrey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Barde Cooney tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paudraig Branson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barde Cooney having to interfere. Barde Cooney made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Paudraig Branson sent off a good shot on target. In the 89thth minute of the game Alexander Caffrey who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Smithfield FC's Barde Cooney was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Paudraig Branson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Woodhouse's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
