In the 8th minute of the match, Blaire Hutton tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Barde Cooney saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 9 minutes into the match, Bealaclugga's goal looked a bit too open when Cianán Myler came free, but Toren Gallagher reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barde Cooney made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Rian Gallagher sent off a good shot on target. 0-2 became the score in the 19th minute when Cianán Myler elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. In the 23rd minute, Cianán Myler made a precise shot to the right of Toren Gallagher. Bealaclugga's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. After a rather tough play, Smithfield FC's Turlough MaCollin got a free kick in the 27th minute. Barde Cooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Blaire Hutton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Blaire Hutton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bealaclugga's supporters rose to their feet, but Blaire Hutton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barde Cooney breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Rian Gallagher's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Barde Cooney read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Rian Gallagher recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Blaire Hutton to make the kick off. After 54 played minutes Smithfield FC got a freekick which was hit by Dermot Bayes. 54 minutes into the match, Bealaclugga's Brendan Gallagher broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cianán Myler in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Toren Gallagher saved Bealaclugga from getting behind. Bevin Perth charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bevin Perth the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th minute, one of Smithfield FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Smithfield FC. The referee gave Bealaclugga a penalty, 69 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Brendan Gallagher, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Smithfield FC's Barde Cooney. 2-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blaire Hutton in the 75th minute of play forced Smithfield FC's goalkeeper Barde Cooney to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bevin Perth kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Barde Cooney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rian Gallagher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 82nd minute of the match Brendan Gallagher shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Barde Cooney showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 84th minute, Rian Gallagher got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Breanne Tierney might have been able to make a better finish in the 86th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Toren Gallagher. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Breanne Tierney ran back to his position shaking his head. Rian Gallagher sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 93rd minute, Branagain Taylor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 94th minute, Rian Gallagher left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Bealaclugga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-4. Blaire Hutton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 99th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
