In the 22nd match minute, Los Malaguistas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Reidy Johnson to maneuver through the defense. After 23 played minutes Los Malaguistas got a freekick which was hit by Keely Matthews. Reidy Johnson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Beglan McCready tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Beglan McCready made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phillip Gallagher in the 31st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Los Malaguistas's zone, Rory Byrne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. George Holt came out of the goal and Rory Byrne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Donlevy Caffey sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Phillip Gallagher in the 68th minute of play forced Briskil Utd's goalkeeper Beglan McCready to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Phillip Gallagher had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rory Byrne couldn't finish the play. Briskil Utd were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
