After a defensive mix-up in Toom's zone, Bodibeua McWilliam stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Terry McCready came out of the goal and Bodibeua McWilliam tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The wind increased when Rownun Robinson made the kick off in the second half. Phillip McJon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Terry McCready tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 56 minutes into the match, Freneystown's Bodibeua McWilliam sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Terry McCready narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute Bodibeua McWilliam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Terry McCready saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Theobald Matthews received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Aengus Rutherford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bodibeua McWilliam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry McCready having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gordon Prunty in the 69th minute of play forced Toom's goalkeeper Terry McCready to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rordan Martyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 73 minutes into the match, Freneystown's goal looked a bit too open when Rownun Robinson came free, but Aengus Rutherford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bodibeua McWilliam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Terry McCready having to interfere. Bodibeua McWilliam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Freneystown's Phillip McJon got a good chance for a goal in the 81st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Terry McCready made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bantry Mulvihill in the 83rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Rownun Robinson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Toom's supporters rose to their feet, but Rownun Robinson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aengus Rutherford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Freneystown players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
