Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Carrigdangan's Tomás Branson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4th minute, Babe Duggan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 6th minute, Bat McSteven reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kevinn Horgan. The goal made the score 1-0. Babe Duggan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kevinn Horgan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 9th minute of play. 11 minutes into the game, Carrigdangan's Tomás Branson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Teigue Crowe made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Kevinn Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bat McSteven in the 16th minute of play. Teigue Crowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bivitas McIan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Carrigdangan's defense didn't have a chance, in the 21st minute, when Babe Duggan scored to the left of an out of position Kevinn Horgan, making the score, 2-1. In the 30th minute Tomás Branson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teigue Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kevinn Horgan made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Babe Duggan sent off a good shot on target. 37 minutes into the match, Babe Duggan notched a goal, 3-1, to the right of Carrigdangan's Kevinn Horgan. Kevinn Horgan was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Babe Duggan was the one to do the kick off. Barock McGlynn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. A collision led to Carrigdangan getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Tomás Branson hit a great ball. In the 59th minute Tomás Branson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teigue Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Babe Duggan fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Geevagh's protests and gave Babe Duggan a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Geevagh's Babe Duggan got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Kevinn Horgan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bat McSteven in the 67th minute of play. In the 71st minute Babe Duggan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kevinn Horgan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Babe Duggan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teigue Crowe stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomás Branson's shot from short distance in the 79th minute. In the 90th minute, Barock McGlynn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carrigdangan's Kevinn Horgan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Babe Duggan in the 92nd minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Carrigdangan players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Geevagh.
