Spectators: 8406 (Terracing: 6305, Seating: 1933, VIP seats: 168) Dundalk FC's Oliver Robinson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fintan Doherty came out of the goal in the 7th minute to try and stop a shot by Up The Dubs's Henry McPaul. But to his dismay, Henry McPaul quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oliver Robinson got free with Danann McCready in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bercnan Kirby kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Up The Dubs's goalkeeper Danann McCready had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oliver Robinson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry McPaul in the 21st minute of play forced Dundalk FC's goalkeeper Fintan Doherty to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Braden McNamee recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 25th minute, Oliver Robinson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 47 minutes of play, Dundalk FC's Oliver Robinson made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Danann McCready was left in no man's land by his defense there! The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henry McPaul made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Braden McNamee managed to get in a good position for a shot. Up The Dubs's supporters rose to their feet, but Braden McNamee was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fintan Doherty breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute, Oliver Robinson made a precise shot to the right of Danann McCready. Up The Dubs's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Harkin McLaughlin's late challenge caught a Up The Dubs's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harkin McLaughlin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Dundalk FC getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Harkin McLaughlin hit a great ball. Oliver Robinson kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Dundalk FC's Fintan Doherty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Dundalk FC from getting a goal against them. Braden McNamee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Fintan Doherty tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute, Sherlock Hunt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Fintan Doherty made an important save on a dangerous shot by Henry McPaul in the 76th minute. Henry McPaul struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Fintan Doherty didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Up The Dubs. Fintan Doherty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henry McPaul, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After 85 played minutes Dundalk FC got a freekick which was hit by Sherlock Hunt. Oliver Robinson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Danann McCready read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 95th minute of play. Dundalk FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Up The Dubs for a fine match.
