Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Brigid Savic made the kick off and thus started the match. Geevagh's Teigue Crowe played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brenn McJohn in the 5th minute of play. Payton Todd, 7 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 15th minute Brigid Savic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teigue Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Finian McJohn made in the 22nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Casey Hughes immediately put the ball in play. Todd Dempsey didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Babe Duggan went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Casey Hughes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Teigue Crowe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Finian McJohn during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Clonyhague's Finian McJohn got a free kick in the 35th minute. Babe Duggan struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Todd Dempsey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Geevagh. Geevagh's Bat McSteven got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gearoid McPeter during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Geevagh getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Gearoid McPeter hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Geevagh's Brendanus Perth got a free kick in the 44th minute. Teigue Crowe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brigid Savic in the 45th minute of the match. After the first half Geevagh were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Babe Duggan was the one to do the kick off. Clonyhague's Todd Dempsey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Clonyhague from getting a goal against them. Teigue Crowe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brigid Savic in the 55th minute of play. Teigue Crowe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brenn McJohn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Babe Duggan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Todd Dempsey made a huge save. After 62 played minutes Clonyhague got a freekick which was hit by Breadan Bayes. A sloppy throw-in by Finian McJohn in the 63rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Geevagh's Barock McGlynn. Babe Duggan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Todd Dempsey when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Brigid Savic scored 1-1 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Teigue Crowe, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 77th minute Brigid Savic shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teigue Crowe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Clonyhague booed when Geevagh was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciarán McTom didn't get a good kick on the ball. Babe Duggan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 86 minutes into the game, Brendanus Perth was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Geevagh's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clonyhague the free kick. Teigue Crowe showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henry Dalton in the 88th minute of the match. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
