Rownun McNamee made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Declan Murphy sent off a good shot on target. After 36 minutes, Dolan Lester mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dolgin FC and the Bodenstown FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The goalkeeper, Rownun McNamee, was totally fooled by Bodenstown FC's Declan Murphy, who 38 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a rather tough play, Bodenstown FC's Bram Perth got a free kick in the 41st minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Donavon Lavine stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. One of Bodenstown FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Dolgin FC:s goal. Ryan Sheridan walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Dolgin FC's Donavon Lavine got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Devlin McTommy fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Dolgin FC's protests and gave Devlin McTommy a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Bodenstown FC booed when Dolgin FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Devlin McTommy didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, Bodenstown FC's goalkeeper Dónal Bayes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Donavon Lavine. Bairne McAaron's late challenge caught a Dolgin FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bairne McAaron helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Bodenstown FC getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Bairne McAaron hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donavon Lavine got free with Dónal Bayes in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Donavon Lavine came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Dolgin FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Donavon Lavine couldn't finish the play. Donavon Lavine who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Dónal Bayes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Rownun McNamee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Declan Murphy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 98th minute of the match, Donavon Lavine got a very nice opportunity to score, but Dónal Bayes was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
