In the 13th minute, Oliver Robinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Dundalk FC's Kyle Dillon got a free kick in the 14th minute. When Bivitas McIan came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Carrigdangan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bivitas McIan couldn't finish the play. Fintan Doherty made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bivitas McIan in the 17th minute of play. In the 18th minute Tomás Branson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fintan Doherty saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Dundalk FC getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Harkin McLaughlin hit a great ball. Fintan Doherty showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bivitas McIan, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. The wind increased when Oliver Robinson made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Dundalk FC's goalkeeper Fintan Doherty had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bivitas McIan. Kevinn Horgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Robinson in the 61st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliver Robinson in the 72nd minute of play forced Carrigdangan's goalkeeper Kevinn Horgan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Carrigdangan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ros McLian to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 75 minutes, Conn Lavine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carrigdangan's supporters crossed their fingers, but Conn Lavine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dundalk FC's Fintan Doherty proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Dundalk FC from getting a goal against them. Bivitas McIan received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Fintan Doherty came out and tried to block the shot, but Bivitas McIan slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 80th minute. In the 83rd minute, Tomás Branson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Fintan Doherty was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. Kevinn Horgan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oliver Robinson in the 86th minute of the match. Bivitas McIan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Fintan Doherty made a huge save. After 91 minutes, Tomás Branson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carrigdangan and the Dundalk FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Breenan Keegan, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
