Dónal Bayes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brigid Savic, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 22 minutes, Binnech Taylor managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bodenstown FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Binnech Taylor was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th minute, Bodenstown FC's Binnech Taylor ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Todd Dempsey. Todd Dempsey yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. If Binnech Taylor had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dónal Bayes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brigid Savic in the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Henry Dalton in the 33rd minute of play forced Bodenstown FC's goalkeeper Dónal Bayes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Bodenstown FC defense, Henry Dalton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dónal Bayes. The Bodenstown FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dónal Bayes should have stopped the shot. Brigid Savic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dónal Bayes having to interfere. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brigid Savic couldn't finish the play. When Donal Jameson fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bodenstown FC's protests and gave Donal Jameson a yellow card for diving instead. Bram Perth charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bram Perth the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Bodenstown FC's Bram Perth got a free kick in the 55th minute. If Donal Jameson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ballintogher booed when Bodenstown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donal Jameson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 96 minutes into the match, Ballintogher's goal looked a bit too open when Binnech Taylor came free, but Todd Dempsey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Ballintogher walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
