Ballintemple Stadium
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Damhliag's Braddon Rutherford started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bow McPeter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leon McBrand having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bow McPeter got free with Leon McBrand in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tate McLiam took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braddon Rutherford, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes into the match, Ballintemple's goal looked a bit too open when Beckett John came free, but Tate McLiam reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brandon Deery recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Brickeen McPaul's late challenge caught a Damhliag's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Brickeen McPaul helped the player get up and apologised. A throw-in in the 33rd minute of the game was made by Denny Gillmour with Donal Mulvihill as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After a rather tough play, Ballintemple's Brandon Deery got a free kick in the 34th minute. Braddon Rutherford struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Tate McLiam didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Damhliag. Braddon Rutherford hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the match, Braddon Rutherford notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Ballintemple's Tate McLiam. Tate McLiam was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Bow McPeter was the one to do the kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Braddon Rutherford took a quick shot and it went in 0-3 without a chance for Tate McLiam to make any attempt to save it. Tate McLiam didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilian Mullan went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. A hard shot 59 in the game by Braddon Rutherford from a close distance when the talented Tate McLiam managed to make a qualified save. Ballintemple's players were relieved. Ballintemple's defense didn't have a chance, in the 61st minute, when Gilian Mullan scored to the left of an out of position Tate McLiam, making the score, 0-5. After 66 minutes, Gehan McFrank mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Damhliag and the Ballintemple players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Damhliag's Gehan McFrank got a free kick in the 66th minute. Leon McBrand made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bow McPeter in the 71st minute of play. Tate McLiam was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Braddon Rutherford showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 81 minute of play. 84 minutes into the game, Brandon Deery cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-6. Leon McBrand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the match was over Damhliag could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ballintemple throughout the match.
