Denny Gillmour made in the 4th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Donal Mulvihill however managed to control. Tinacarra Utd's Brendan McJon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilian Mullan in the 6th minute of play. The supporters of Tinacarra Utd booed when Damhliag was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Braddon Rutherford didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ryan Dimson's late challenge caught a Tinacarra Utd's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ryan Dimson helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Damhliag's Ryan Dimson got a free kick in the 9th minute. The audience was convinced that Berchan Caffrey's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leon McBrand was relentless in the 11th minute of the game. In the 17th minute Braddon Rutherford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brendan McJon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Damhliag booed when Tinacarra Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Banvan McSteve didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Tinacarra Utd's zone, Braddon Rutherford stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brendan McJon came out of the goal and Braddon Rutherford tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Brendan McJon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Beckett John in the 26th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brenden Kirby during the 27th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Damhliag booed when Tinacarra Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brenden Kirby didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tinacarra Utd's Brendan McJon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Braddon Rutherford in the 30th minute of play. Gilian Mullan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 39th minute of the match, but Brendan McJon made a huge save. Brendan McJon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braddon Rutherford, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Berchan Caffrey to make the kick off. After some careless play in the Tinacarra Utd defense, Braddon Rutherford kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brendan McJon. The Tinacarra Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brendan McJon should have stopped the shot. Braddon Rutherford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Brendan McJon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brendan McJon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beckett John, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After 68 played minutes Damhliag got a freekick which was hit by Donal Mulvihill. Braddon Rutherford recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 72 minutes into the game, Braddon Rutherford was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Damhliag's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tinacarra Utd the free kick. When Braddon Rutherford came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Damhliag fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Braddon Rutherford couldn't finish the play. Tinacarra Utd's Brendan McJon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Beckett John in the 81st minute of play. In the 85th minute, Braddon Rutherford ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brendan McJon was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. If Donal Mulvihill had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Tinacarra Utd defense, Donal Mulvihill kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brendan McJon. The Tinacarra Utd fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brendan McJon should have stopped the shot. Damhliag walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
