The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tate McLiam showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reginald McAlphie in the 3rd minute of the match. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. One of Ballintemple:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Moyvane FC:s goal. The referee gave Moyvane FC a penalty, 7 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Comhghall Ryan, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ballintemple's Tate McLiam. 0-1. If Brandon Deery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Brendon Scully in the 13th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tate McLiam saved Ballintemple from getting behind. Dermot Kirby kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, Barclay Dunne hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gerald Moran kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. The supporters of Moyvane FC booed when Ballintemple was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bow McPeter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barram Tracy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tate McLiam having to interfere. In the 38th minute Barram Tracy shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tate McLiam saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 42 minutes into the game, Gerald Moran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Moyvane FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ballintemple the free kick. After 43 played minutes Moyvane FC got a freekick which was hit by Gerald Moran. After the first half Moyvane FC were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When Bow McPeter fell near the penalty area in the 69th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ballintemple's protests and gave Bow McPeter a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Ballintemple getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Bow McPeter hit a great ball. Moyvane FC made a substitution. Derin Mulvihill replaced Britain Ramsey. Brendon Scully sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 74 minutes, Brendon Scully managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Moyvane FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brendon Scully was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brandon Deery hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. In the 78th minute, Farrell Mullan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 80 minutes, the score became 1-4 when Brendon Scully sped through Ballintemple's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Tate McLiam. Thom Mullan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bow McPeter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Comhghall Ryan hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. When the final whistle sounded Moyvane FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ballintemple.
