Raymond Keegan hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. After 5 minutes, Raymond Keegan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Newtownbarry FC and the Tralee players grew even worse after the yellow card. 12 minutes into the match, Boyce Dalton notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Tralee's Blaire Byrne. Blaire Byrne was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Blaire Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raymond Keegan in the 16th minute of the match. Saoirse McIan hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Abbot Myler struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Tierney McGlenn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Tralee. A collision led to Newtownbarry FC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Barclay McTom hit a great ball. Tralee's Abbot Myler got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 29th minute, Tralee's Artt Colwell seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Artt Colwell the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Tralee protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Artt Colwell had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 31st minute there was a penalty for Newtownbarry FC. Raymond Tierney stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Blaire Byrne. 1-2. In the 37th minute, Boyce Dalton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Newtownbarry FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Boyce Dalton to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 64th match minute, Tralee was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baird Jameson to maneuver through the defense. Blaire Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boyce Dalton in the 67th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Barclay McTom dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Blaire Byrne, 1-5. Blaire Byrne showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Boyce Dalton, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. The supporters of Newtownbarry FC booed when Tralee was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 77 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caimin McBrand didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Tralee getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Blayne Robinson hit a great ball. In the 88th minute, Abbot Myler got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Blaire Byrne showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Boyce Dalton in the 90th minute of the match. When Newtownbarry FC's Boyce Dalton, in the 90th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Newtownbarry FC. 93 minutes into the match, Tralee's goal looked a bit too open when Barclay McTom came free, but Blaire Byrne reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Newtownbarry FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
