Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Donall Cronin started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. The supporters of Shankill booed when Irishtown was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Breanainn Ghee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rowley Frankson hit a great ball. 14 minutes into the game, Basil McPaul was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Shankill's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Irishtown the free kick. After a rather tough play, Shankill's Basil McPaul got a free kick in the 14th minute. Comhghall McNamara kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Louie Morrison struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Nollaig Benson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shankill. Gehan Moran received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Nollaig Benson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 20 minutes of play, Irishtown's Bivadas Matthews made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Irwin McJohnny was left in no man's land by his defense there! Louie Morrison's late challenge caught a Irishtown's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Louie Morrison helped the player get up and apologised. Irwin McJohnny made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bivadas Matthews in the 27th minute of play. Shankill's Basil McPaul got his second yellow card of the match in the 31st minute. The referee ordered Basil McPaul off the ground. A collision led to Shankill getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Basil McPaul hit a great ball. Shankill's Irwin McJohnny played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bivadas Matthews in the 33rd minute of play. Irwin McJohnny didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Donall Cronin went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Louie Morrison got a throw-in 39 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Gehan Moran. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Saoirse McStephen to make the kick off. After 52 played minutes Shankill got a freekick which was hit by Rowley Frankson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donall Cronin in the 72nd minute of play forced Shankill's goalkeeper Irwin McJohnny to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the game, Irishtown's Rowe Coyle nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Irwin McJohnny made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The audience was convinced that Donall Cronin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Irwin McJohnny was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Breanainn Ghee during the 94th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Irishtown had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
