The tension between the Newtownbarry FC and the Attinkee players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Newtownbarry FC's Saoirse McIan got a free kick in the 44th minute. Beatty Ramsey could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Tierney McGlenn made a huge save. In the 48th minute, Beatty Ramsey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tierney McGlenn was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Boyce Dalton to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 54th minute, Bras Willson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Attinkee's supporters rose to their feet, but Bras Willson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tierney McGlenn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 58 minutes into the game, Edwin Cassin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Newtownbarry FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Attinkee the free kick. In the 58th match minute, Newtownbarry FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edwin Cassin to maneuver through the defense. If Beatty Ramsey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
