Clontoe's Bow McPhil proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 16th minute of the match, managed to save Clontoe from getting a goal against them. 30 minutes into the match, Domenico Cavallaro dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Bow McPhil, 1-0. After 32 minutes, Honorato Quintyn mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Salthill Zárate and the Clontoe players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Clontoe booed when Salthill Zárate was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Honorato Quintyn didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuel Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Bow McPhil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th minute Honorato Quintyn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bow McPhil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Clontoe's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Torres came free, but Bow McPhil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorato Quintyn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 49th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bow McPhil having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Samuel Torres to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domenico Cavallaro in the 54th minute of play forced Clontoe's goalkeeper Bow McPhil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 56 minutes into the match, Clontoe's goal looked a bit too open when Domenico Cavallaro came free, but Bow McPhil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Clontoe's Bow McPhil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Torres in the 57th minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Clontoe's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Torres came free, but Bow McPhil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th minute Samuel Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bow McPhil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Salthill Zárate getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Braydon McAlphie hit a great ball. After 78 minutes, Alan McFrank mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clontoe and the Salthill Zárate players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 78th minute, Alan McFrank hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Salthill Zárate's Samuel Torres in the 79th minute got a chance for a shot 79th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bow McPhil took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domenico Cavallaro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the match, Samuel Torres had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bow McPhil. Clontoe's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Samuel Torres was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The audience was convinced that Samuel Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bow McPhil was relentless in the 89th minute of the game. Salthill Zárate's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
