Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Seosamh Palmer made the kick off and thus started the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Seosamh Palmer in the 4th minute of play forced Clontoe's goalkeeper Bow McPhil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bow McPhil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eamonn Ryan in the 6th minute of the match. Bow McPhil came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Ardlona's Eamonn Ryan. But to his dismay, Eamonn Ryan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 12th minute, Garrett McJohnny left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ardlona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. With 15 minutes on the clock, Bradley Callaghan commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Clontoe:s Bow McPhil showed great skill when he stopped Garrett McJohnny:s penalty. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Seosamh Palmer in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bow McPhil saved Clontoe from getting behind. In the 23rd minute Aban Barrett shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bow McPhil saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 25th minute, Eamonn Ryan made a precise shot to the right of Bow McPhil. Clontoe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Keely Martyn during the 29th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Keely Martyn hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Clontoe. 0-5 became the score in the 32nd minute when Seosamh Palmer elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 35 minutes into the match, Clontoe's goal looked a bit too open when Seosamh Palmer came free, but Bow McPhil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Garrett McJohnny fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bow McPhil having to interfere. Eamonn Ryan struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Bow McPhil didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ardlona. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Seosamh Palmer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ardlona's supporters rose to their feet, but Seosamh Palmer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bow McPhil breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bar Byrne to make the kick off. Bow McPhil made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Seosamh Palmer sent off a good shot on target. After 77th play minutes Seosamh Palmer shot 0-6, a short shot which went by Bow McPhil and just under the crossbar into goal. After 81 played minutes Clontoe got a freekick which was hit by Barney Martyn. With a little luck, Clontoe's Bow McPhil got control of the ball when Eamonn Ryan tried to sneak it across the goal line.
