Phelan Tierney lost his temper 22 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 22 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. Breck Mulvihill could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Antaine Byrne made a huge save. 32 minutes into the game, Caherlane's Dillon Scully nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Antaine Byrne made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 37th minute, Tomás Brennan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Antaine Byrne took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rorry Perth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 41 minutes of play, Caherlane's Dillon Scully made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Antaine Byrne acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 46th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Breck Mulvihill. Brogan Sheridan kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dillon Scully stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bunlahy's Antaine Byrne played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Breck Mulvihill in the 60th minute of play. Antaine Byrne didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rorry Perth went, in the 62nd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breck Mulvihill in the 68th minute of play forced Bunlahy's goalkeeper Antaine Byrne to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Caherlane fully deserved thier win.
