Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Balor McWillie took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th match minute, Killanly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ennis Scully to maneuver through the defense. In the 6th match minute, Killanly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cleary McJohnny to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beolagh McFrank in the 8th minute of play forced Killanly's goalkeeper Gordan Coyle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Torna Doherty's late challenge caught a Killanly's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Torna Doherty helped the player get up and apologised. After having played for 19 minutes, Balor McWillie managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Killanly's supporters crossed their fingers, but Balor McWillie was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Boyle Willson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 36th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. After 41 minutes of play, Dundalk's Beolagh McFrank made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gordan Coyle was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 47th minute, Ennis Scully hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Brakawn McNamee was the one to do the kick off. Balor McWillie recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 64 minutes, Balor McWillie put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Pauric Coyle. Scott McGlenn scored 2-2 in the 71st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gordan Coyle, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Scott McGlenn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Gordan Coyle made a huge save. The supporters of Dundalk booed when Killanly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Petran Rogers didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Killanly's Ennis Scully got a free kick in the 85th minute. Killanly's Gordan Coyle proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 87th minute of the match, managed to save Killanly from getting a goal against them. After 88 played minutes Dundalk got a freekick which was hit by Damian Kelly. After 94 played minutes Dundalk got a freekick which was hit by Torna Doherty. Dundalk's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
