The supporters of Independente F.C booed when Killanly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rian Dillon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Killanly's Balor McWillie got a free kick in the 13th minute. When Brayden Dimson fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Killanly's protests and gave Brayden Dimson a yellow card for diving instead. Gordan Coyle showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hewney McJohn, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. In the 18th match minute, Killanly was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brayden Dimson to maneuver through the defense. Gordan Coyle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hewney McJohn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Killanly getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Rowen Brennan hit a great ball. 28 minutes into the game, Donlan Gallagher was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Independente F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Killanly the free kick. Donlan Gallagher kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Balor McWillie might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jan Jerzyk. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Balor McWillie ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Independente F.C's Jan Jerzyk got control of the ball when Balor McWillie tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Independente F.C booed when Killanly was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brayden Dimson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 43 minutes, Binean Dempsey mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Independente F.C and the Killanly players grew even worse after the yellow card. Binean Dempsey kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Balor McWillie to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Killanly were awarded a corner. Brayden Dimson went to the cornerflag to take it. If Brayden Dimson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Independente F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Artur Byrne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gordan Coyle made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Hewney McJohn sent off a good shot on target. 79 minutes into the match, Killanly's goal looked a bit too open when Beglan McBjarton came free, but Gordan Coyle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Killanly's Gordan Coyle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Davie Deery in the 80th minute of play. 83 minutes into the match, Balor McWillie had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jan Jerzyk. Independente F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Balor McWillie was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beglan McBjarton in the 89th minute of play forced Killanly's goalkeeper Gordan Coyle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Balor McWillie had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rian Dillon hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Gordan Coyle made an important save on a dangerous shot by Davie Deery in the 96th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Independente F.C players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Killanly.
