In the 15thth minute of the game Bevan Martyn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corbaly's Bresal Dempsey was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Joshua Johnson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keely Scully in the 21st minute of play. Dundalk FC's Joshua Johnson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Dundalk FC from getting a goal against them. Balor Glen Crowe received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Joshua Johnson came out and tried to block the shot, but Balor Glen Crowe slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 25th minute. A collision led to Corbaly getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Colm Glen Crowe hit a great ball. In the 44th minute, Keely Scully left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Corbaly fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Bevan Martyn made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beairtle Rutherford in the 52nd minute of play forced Corbaly's goalkeeper Bresal Dempsey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cleary McJohn kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Bresal Dempsey came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Dundalk FC's Bevan Martyn. But to his dismay, Bevan Martyn quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Joshua Johnson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Balor Glen Crowe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70th minute, Bevan Martyn left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dundalk FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Balor Glen Crowe in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joshua Johnson saved Dundalk FC from getting behind. Bevan Martyn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Bresal Dempsey made a huge save. Bresal Dempsey was a little too slow when Derry Ferguson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 77th minute. The score was now 2-3. After 82 minutes, Beairtle Rutherford mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dundalk FC and the Corbaly players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd minute, Beairtle Rutherford hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joshua Johnson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Keely Scully, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. 85 minutes into the match, Dundalk FC's goal looked a bit too open when Balor Glen Crowe came free, but Joshua Johnson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute Balor Glen Crowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joshua Johnson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Balor Glen Crowe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joshua Johnson was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. Benedict Matthews sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Balor Glen Crowe took the ball and in the 95 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Joshua Johnson. Joshua Johnson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
