Leonard McWill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bar Savic in the 34th minute of the match. Peter McPaul showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hayes McGlynn, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hayes McGlynn in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Peter McPaul saved Fiddown from getting behind. After the first half Kilgowan FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hayes McGlynn to make the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Torrans Delaney during the 53rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
