Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 7 minutes into the game, Randal Silke was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Kilgowan FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Celbridge FC the free kick. Randal Silke kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Leonard McWill made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pawd Frankson in the 10th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Kilgowan FC's Ryon McMichel got a free kick in the 11th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rollan McTommy during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 23 minutes of play, Celbridge FC's Rownun Hunt made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonard McWill was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 28 minutes, Pawd Frankson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Celbridge FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Pawd Frankson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 30th match minute, Kilgowan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Randal Silke to maneuver through the defense. Celbridge FC's Ravan Branson shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 31st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Leonard McWill but with some difficulty. Boyle McBrandon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leonard McWill having to make a save. 46 minutes into the match, Kilgowan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Pawd Frankson came free, but Leonard McWill reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Hayes McGlynn to strike the kick off in the second half. 60 minutes in the game, Rownun Hunt dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Hayes McGlynn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leonard McWill took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Braon Quinnless, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 72 played minutes Celbridge FC got a freekick which was hit by Toran McBrand. A hard shot by George Dempsey from long distance, 73 minutes into the match, got Caimin McMichel's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 80 played minutes Kilgowan FC got a freekick which was hit by Danann McMichel. The supporters of Celbridge FC booed when Kilgowan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ryon McMichel didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Kilgowan FC's zone, Rownun Hunt stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leonard McWill came out of the goal and Rownun Hunt tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leonard McWill showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Braon Quinnless in the 90th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Kilgowan FC defense, Braon Quinnless kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leonard McWill. The Kilgowan FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leonard McWill should have stopped the shot. There was no doubt that Celbridge FC were the better team. Celbridge FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
