Hayes McGlynn could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 5th minute of the match, but Comhghall Quinnless made a huge save. 12 minutes into the match, Cornamona's goalkeeper Comhghall Quinnless had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Danann McMichel. A collision led to Cornamona getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Dolan McAaron hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Donncha McCollion in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Leonard McWill prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Cornamona were awarded a corner in the 26th minute after Kilgowan FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Donncha McCollion took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Donncha McCollion got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leonard McWill quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Isaac McWill struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Comhghall Quinnless didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kilgowan FC. Cornamona's defense didn't have a chance, in the 30th minute, when Danann McMichel scored to the left of an out of position Comhghall Quinnless, making the score, 1-0. In the 41st match minute, Cornamona was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kerrigan McPhilip to maneuver through the defense. Isaac McWill fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comhghall Quinnless having to interfere. A collision led to Cornamona getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Dolan McAaron hit a great ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Leonard McWill made an important save on a dangerous shot by Donncha McCollion in the 58th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Hayes McGlynn in the 68th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Comhghall Quinnless saved Cornamona from getting behind. 69 minutes into the match, Cornamona's goal looked a bit too open when Danann McMichel came free, but Comhghall Quinnless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Hayes McGlynn had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the game, Dolan McAaron threw the ball into play from the sideline. Kilgowan FC's Isaac McWill quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Comhghall Quinnless made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hayes McGlynn in the 75th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Donncha McCollion in the 77th minute of play forced Kilgowan FC's goalkeeper Leonard McWill to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Kilgowan FC's George Dempsey got a free kick in the 77th minute. After 79 played minutes Cornamona got a freekick which was hit by Dolan McAaron. 85 minutes into the game, one of Kilgowan FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Kilgowan FC:s Leonard McWill showed great skill when he stopped Donncha McCollion:s penalty. When Cornamona's Donncha McCollion in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Kilgowan FC's goalie prevented a goal. Donncha McCollion received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Leonard McWill came out and tried to block the shot, but Donncha McCollion slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 91st minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Kilgowan FC had played much better football throughout.
