Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Baodan Horgan started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Conn Glen Crowe was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 4 minutes into the match. A collision led to Clongeen getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Conn Glen Crowe hit a great ball. When Branagain Horgan came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Kells Utd fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Branagain Horgan couldn't finish the play. 10 minutes into the game, Brine McCready recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Brann Benson. Brine McCready showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Kells Utd's Brann Benson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 14th minute of the match, managed to save Kells Utd from getting a goal against them. 17 minutes in the game, Boyd Branson fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Brann Benson having to interfere. If Boyd Branson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Brine McCready came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Clongeen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brine McCready couldn't finish the play. 24 minutes into the game, Kells Utd's Artur Gollogley nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pat Rutherford made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Boyd Branson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brann Benson having to interfere. Pat Rutherford showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denny McCready in the 44th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the match, Clongeen's goal looked a bit too open when Desmond Tracy came free, but Pat Rutherford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pat Rutherford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denny McCready in the 47th minute of play. After the first half Kells Utd were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Desmond Tracy stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Brine McCready had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Artur Gollogley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pat Rutherford made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Desmond Tracy in the 72nd minute of play. Pat Rutherford made an important save on a dangerous shot by Denny McCready in the 76th minute. Brann Benson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Boyd Branson in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd minute, Boyd Branson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Brine McCready received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Brann Benson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Gollogley during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Clongeen booed when Kells Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Gollogley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Boyd Branson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
