Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Raymond McLians short, quick shot in the 3rdth minute got Charly Meulemans to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Charly Meulemans came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Poulnalour's Raymond McLian. But to his dismay, Raymond McLian quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Charly Meulemans stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Raymond McLian's shot from short distance in the 10th minute. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Raymond McLian sped through Shamrock Rovers's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Charly Meulemans. Darrin McWilliam kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. Sean Deery was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 25th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The supporters of Poulnalour booed when Shamrock Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brandan Crowe didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 32 minutes, Brefni Benson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shamrock Rovers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brefni Benson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Robustiano Tino in the 35th minute of play forced Poulnalour's goalkeeper Patton Callaghan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Shamrock Rovers's Charly Meulemans got control of the ball when Raymond McLian tried to sneak it across the goal line. Scot Sheridan hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Robustiano Tino scored 2-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Patton Callaghan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Raymond McLian to strike the kick off in the second half. Scot Sheridan kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. Brefni Benson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Robustiano Tino fell near the penalty area in the 66th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shamrock Rovers's protests and gave Robustiano Tino a yellow card for diving instead. In the 67th match minute, Shamrock Rovers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Robustiano Tino to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Poulnalour's zone, Brefni Benson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Patton Callaghan came out of the goal and Brefni Benson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patton Callaghan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robustiano Tino's shot from short distance in the 88th minute. Robustiano Tino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Many of Shamrock Rovers's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Shamrock Rovers may have spent more time on the ball, but Poulnalour were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
