The supporters of Carrigane booed when Ballinrolla AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patrick McNamara didn't get a good kick on the ball. 76 minutes into the match, Ballinrolla AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Breffni Barrett came free, but Farrell McAaron reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Henry Silke scored 4-0 in the 89th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Farrell McAaron, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Farrell McAaron showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Breffni Barrett in the 93rd minute of the match. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Carrigane fully deserved thier win.
