Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Shannon Dalton started the match with the kick off. Clooncoose's Earnán Savic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edwin Murphy in the 4th minute of play. After having played for 6 minutes, Bradagain McCollion managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lagacurry's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bradagain McCollion was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 8th minute, Andrew McBrandon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Clooncoose fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Clooncoose's Earnán Savic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edwin Murphy in the 16th minute of play. Desmond McJohnny came free with the goalkeeper in the 21st minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Earnán Savic could save by the left post. Buach Palmer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Andrew McBrandon in the 24th minute of play. In the 30th match minute, Clooncoose was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irwin Tracy to maneuver through the defense. In the 31st minute of the match Harvey McPaul shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Earnán Savic showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Lagacurry getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Harrigan Caffrey hit a great ball. If Andrew McBrandon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Earnán Savic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bradagain McCollion in the 40th minute of the match. Earnán Savic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edwin Murphy, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 45th match minute, Clooncoose was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Andrew McBrandon to maneuver through the defense.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Andrew McBrandon to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute of the match, Andrew McBrandon got a very nice opportunity to score, but Buach Palmer was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Earnán Savic showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Desmond McJohnny in the 54th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Thurl Cronin during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Clooncoose getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Thurl Cronin hit a great ball. In the 60th minute, Andrew McBrandon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 64 minutes into the match, Clooncoose's goal looked a bit too open when Desmond McJohnny came free, but Earnán Savic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Irwin Tracy's late challenge caught a Lagacurry's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Irwin Tracy helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Clooncoose's Irwin Tracy got a free kick in the 68th minute. In the 76th minute, Fionn Quinnless hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Harvey McPaul's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Earnán Savic read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. After having played for 79 minutes, Andrew McBrandon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clooncoose's supporters crossed their fingers, but Andrew McBrandon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Desmond McJohnny might have been able to make a better finish in the 83rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Earnán Savic. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Desmond McJohnny ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 85th match minute, Clooncoose was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Irwin Tracy to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Lagacurry booed when Clooncoose was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tevin McPeter didn't get a good kick on the ball. Desmond McJohnny recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle went the supporters of Clooncoose were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Lagacurry side.
