Barhart Costello fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comhghall Mullan having to interfere. After 5th play minutes Pearse McWilliam shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Comhghall Mullan and just under the crossbar into goal. Knockanare's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Barhart Costello 10 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Barhart Costello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Comhghall Mullan came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by St. James Gate F.C.'s Pearse McWilliam. But to his dismay, Pearse McWilliam quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. Pearse McWilliam succeeded in the game's 21st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. Knockanare's Comhghall Mullan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Knockanare from getting a goal against them. Barhart Costello was extremely unlucky when he, in the 27th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Comhghall Mullan made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Pearse McWilliam sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Knockanare's Bresal McWillie got a free kick in the 31st minute. St. James Gate F.C.'s Tipper Savic shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by Comhghall Mullan but with some difficulty. In the 34th match minute, Knockanare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Becc McAaron to maneuver through the defense. Pearse McWilliam scored 7-0 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Comhghall Mullan, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. St. James Gate F.C. made a substitution. Bannon Glen Crowe replaced Pearse McWilliam. A hard shot 44 in the game by Bannon Glen Crowe from a close distance when the talented Comhghall Mullan managed to make a qualified save. Knockanare's players were relieved. Barhart Costello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Comhghall Mullan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Barhart Costello struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Comhghall Mullan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for St. James Gate F.C.. Af the end of the first half the score was 7-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bannon Glen Crowe to make the kick off. Bannon Glen Crowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute Bannon Glen Crowe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comhghall Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Barhart Costello made a precise shot to the right of Comhghall Mullan. Knockanare's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. 57 minutes into the match, Knockanare's goal looked a bit too open when Bannon Glen Crowe came free, but Comhghall Mullan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When St. James Gate F.C.'s Barhart Costello in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Knockanare's goalie prevented a goal. In the 63rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Knockanare's goalkeeper Comhghall Mullan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 68 minutes into the match, Knockanare's goal looked a bit too open when Bannon Glen Crowe came free, but Comhghall Mullan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Bannon Glen Crowe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Comhghall Mullan was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Comhghall Mullan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barhart Costello, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After having played for 73 minutes, Bannon Glen Crowe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. St. James Gate F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Bannon Glen Crowe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Comhghall Mullan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Barhart Costello, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bannon Glen Crowe in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Comhghall Mullan saved Knockanare from getting behind. In the 87th minute, Barhart Costello left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The St. James Gate F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 11-0. St. James Gate F.C.'s Biddy Delaney was substituted for Barhart Costello. 93 minutes into the match, Knockanare's goal looked a bit too open when Biddy Delaney came free, but Comhghall Mullan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Knockanare getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Brenan Benson hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bannon Glen Crowe in the 95th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Comhghall Mullan saved Knockanare from getting behind. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. St. James Gate F.C. had played much better football throughout.
