The Killosseny AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Beartlai Caffey should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hewney Kirby in the 13th minute of play forced Killosseny AFC's goalkeeper Beartlai Caffey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes into the match, Pearse McWilliam had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beartlai Caffey. Killosseny AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pearse McWilliam was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. A collision led to Killosseny AFC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Buach Doherty hit a great ball. In the 28th minute Pearse McWilliam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Beartlai Caffey saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 minutes of play, St. James Gate F.C.'s Hewney Kirby made it 0-7 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Beartlai Caffey was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience was convinced that Bannon Glen Crowe's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Beartlai Caffey was relentless in the 44th minute of the game. Beartlai Caffey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hewney Kirby, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Beartlai Caffey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barhart Costello, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bannon Glen Crowe made a kick off. Beartlai Caffey was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Bannon Glen Crowe showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 53 minute of play. In the 56th minute, Turlough Kelly hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bannon Glen Crowe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Beartlai Caffey made a huge save. Barhart Costello received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Beartlai Caffey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 68 played minutes Killosseny AFC got a freekick which was hit by Buach Doherty. Beartlai Caffey made a fantastic save in the 69th minute, when Bannon Glen Crowe sent off a good shot on target. Killosseny AFC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Barhart Costello scored to the left of an out of position Beartlai Caffey, making the score, 0-10. After 76 played minutes Killosseny AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ros McBrandon. Tipper Savic took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Beartlai Caffey. Killosseny AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bannon Glen Crowe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Beartlai Caffey made a huge save. A hard shot 79 in the game by Bannon Glen Crowe from a close distance when the talented Beartlai Caffey managed to make a qualified save. Killosseny AFC's players were relieved. Bannon Glen Crowe did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-11 to the left of a surprised Beartlai Caffey 79 minutes into the match. 84 minutes into the match, Hewney Kirby had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Beartlai Caffey. Killosseny AFC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hewney Kirby was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-12. St. James Gate F.C. made a substitution. Biddy Delaney replaced Barhart Costello. When Barnaby Bayes came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the St. James Gate F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Barnaby Bayes couldn't finish the play. 94 minutes into the game, Hewney Kirby recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Beartlai Caffey. Hewney Kirby showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-13.
