Berkeley Delaney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Burke Martyn in the 3rd minute of play. Berkeley Delaney was a little too slow when Hewney Kirby got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 4th minute. The score was now 1-0. Edward McGlenn charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edward McGlenn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Edward McGlenn kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. Berkeley Delaney took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Burke Martyn, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 14 minutes, Barhart Costello took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Berkeley Delaney to make any attempt to save it. Pearse McWilliam who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 19thth minute tested the skills of Berkeley Delaney when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Pearse McWilliam took the ball and in the 21 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Berkeley Delaney. Berkeley Delaney dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. 24 minutes into the match, Pearse McWilliam dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Berkeley Delaney, 4-0. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Burke Martyn took a quick shot and it went in 5-0 without a chance for Berkeley Delaney to make any attempt to save it. Ballydonegan's Berkeley Delaney played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Barhart Costello in the 30th minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Pearse McWilliam had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Berkeley Delaney. Ballydonegan's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pearse McWilliam was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. In the 39th minute Aaron Walker collided with an opponent which caused him a fractured collar bone. Belock Rutherford charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Belock Rutherford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 40 played minutes Ballydonegan got a freekick which was hit by Belock Rutherford. Brigid Rutherford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lee McBrand, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Hewney Kirby scored 8-0 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Berkeley Delaney, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 8-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Bannon Glen Crowe made the kick off in the second half. After 57 minutes of play, St. James Gate F.C.'s Barhart Costello made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Berkeley Delaney was left in no man's land by his defense there! Berkeley Delaney made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bannon Glen Crowe in the 64th minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, Burke Martyn notched a goal, 11-0, to the right of Ballydonegan's Berkeley Delaney. Berkeley Delaney was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. St. James Gate F.C.'s Gealan Cooney was substituted for Burke Martyn. 70 minutes into the game, St. James Gate F.C.'s Egan McLaughlin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Berkeley Delaney made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 12-0. Berkeley Delaney came out of the goal in the 77th minute to try and stop a shot by St. James Gate F.C.'s Hewney Kirby. But to his dismay, Hewney Kirby quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 13-0. 80 minutes into the game, St. James Gate F.C.'s Bannon Glen Crowe nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Berkeley Delaney made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 14-0. St. James Gate F.C. made a substitution. Biddy Delaney replaced Barhart Costello. 84 minutes into the game, Bannon Glen Crowe cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 15-0. Berkeley Delaney was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ryan Horgan kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. In the 89th minute of the match Tipper Savic shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Berkeley Delaney showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Berkeley Delaney didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hewney Kirby went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 16-0 was the resulting score. Aaron Walker made in the 93rd minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Egan McLaughlin however managed to control. After 95 minutes of play, St. James Gate F.C.'s Egan McLaughlin made it 17-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Berkeley Delaney was left in no man's land by his defense there! There was no doubt that St. James Gate F.C. were the better team. St. James Gate F.C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
