Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Beairtle Gollogley made the kick off and thus started the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bartel Prunty got free with Comhghall Mullan in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Bartel Prunty took the ball and in the 4 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Comhghall Mullan. Comhghall Mullan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Bartel Prunty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Comhghall Mullan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teris Rogers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Becc McAaron, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. After some careless play in the Knockanare defense, Bartel Prunty kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Comhghall Mullan. The Knockanare fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Comhghall Mullan should have stopped the shot. Teris Rogers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brenan Benson in the 19th minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Beairtle Gollogley notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Lynnbury's Teris Rogers. Teris Rogers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Teris Rogers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beairtle Gollogley, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. 34 minutes into the game, Beairtle Gollogley cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Teris Rogers was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 37th minute Becc McAaron shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teris Rogers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bartel Prunty came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Lynnbury fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bartel Prunty couldn't finish the play. After 43 played minutes Knockanare got a freekick which was hit by Davie Dimson. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Becc McAaron sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bartel Prunty in the 61st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Comhghall Mullan saved Knockanare from getting behind. In the 62nd match minute, Knockanare was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brenan Benson to maneuver through the defense. In the 63rd minute Bartel Prunty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Comhghall Mullan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brenan Benson during the 65th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 71st minute, Bartel Prunty made a precise shot to the right of Comhghall Mullan. Knockanare's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Comhghall Mullan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bartel Prunty in the 79th minute of play. In the 85th minute, Brenan Benson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bartel Prunty sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 92 played minutes Knockanare got a freekick which was hit by Desmond McWilliam. The supporters of Lynnbury booed when Knockanare was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davie Dimson didn't get a good kick on the ball.
