Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Donell Prunty started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. In the 4th minute Shey McPhilip shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bardan McMichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Catstown's Barney Doyle slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Brenna Sheridan. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. Shey McPhilip received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Bardan McMichel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 16 minutes into the game, Ballytrasna's Shey McPhilip nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bardan McMichel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. The supporters of Catstown booed when Ballytrasna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Peadar McAlphie didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 22nd minute, Henry McBrand left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Catstown fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. After 26 minutes of play, Catstown's Fionntán McPhilip made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Brenna Sheridan was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 29 minutes, Aaron Tierney mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Catstown and the Ballytrasna players grew even worse after the yellow card. Aaron Tierney hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Barney Doyle in the 33rd minute of play forced Ballytrasna's goalkeeper Brenna Sheridan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute Donell Prunty shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bardan McMichel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brenna Sheridan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fionntán McPhilip, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bardan McMichel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Peadar McAlphie in the 41st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ballytrasna's Alan Hughes got a free kick in the 42nd minute. A collision led to Ballytrasna getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Gil Caffey hit a great ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Barney Doyle was the one to do the kick off. Bardan McMichel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Peadar McAlphie in the 55th minute. Henry McBrand recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gil Caffey was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 64th minute. Ballytrasna's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Brenna Sheridan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fionntán McPhilip in the 71st minute of play. In the 75th minute Briain Morrison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brenna Sheridan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brenna Sheridan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fionntán McPhilip went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. In the 81st minute Barney Doyle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brenna Sheridan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jarlath McOliver hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Bardan McMichel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 86th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Blair Martyn. Catstown's defense didn't have a chance, in the 88th minute, when Shey McPhilip scored to the left of an out of position Bardan McMichel, making the score, 4-2. 95 minutes into the match, Catstown's Briain Morrison sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brenna Sheridan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Catstown's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
